Our mid-sized branding agency client needs a Senior Designer at the Creative Director level to guide and inspire a team of Art Directors and Designers. You will be also be responsible for sharing the design development and management of the studios projects with our clients other Creative Director.
This Senior Designer serves a dual role—one part team leader, one part designer. This unique position requires a hands-on approach in both cases and a very agile mind who can balance fulfilling the needs of the agency, the designers, and their individual workload simultaneously. Our design department is an intense and fast-paced environment where creative artistry and strategic thinking drive everything we do. Our client builds brands from the ground up, or rebrands brands, with a focus on in the hospitality, travel, food/beverage as well as the emerging consumer goods industries.
This position works directly with ownership and is able to lead and create from concept through to final product -- including identity/brand development, advertising campaigns, interior concepts, web sites, viral and guerrilla marketing.
Concept and execute deep branding explorations and top level conceptual design direction, each and every time.
Mentor a team of creatives, as well as serve as a sounding board and inspiration for the entire team.
To constantly bring new ideas and strategic thinking in-order to build thoughtful design systems that balance client needs and forward thinking.
Possessing an awareness and curiosity about the world of design and to constantly seek what’s new.
Being well versed at what is happening in travel, food/beverage, interior design, architecture, environment design.
Knowing and loving (and have opinions about) all design fundamentals: Typography, Iconography, Form, Color, and Composition
Bring strong leadership and teamwork skills to the table — and the ability and drive to work with Art Directors and mentor other Designers as well as the confidence and skill to communicate your ideas clearly.
Ability to showcase developing a brand from nothing, creating textures, tone, colors, positioning, ads - anything a consumer guest can sense, can you sense it?
- A portfolio full of Branding/Design development deep dives - show us work that really created a layered visual vocabulary that is texturally rich and created a brand story.
- BA required in design, graphic arts, interactive media or related field.
- Minimum of 7 years of prior agency experience in a similar position, 3+ years in creative mentorship role and experience managing a team.
- Strong knowledge and elevated perspective of print production and resources
- Expert level with the Adobe Creative Suite: InDesign, Photoshop, Illustrator
