Work closely with VP Creative Director to strategize and assist in creative conceptualization of established hair care company initiatives. Lead the creative team to develop, manage and execute creative solutions.
Day to day management of designated Creative team members, ensuring all projects meet deadlines.
Creative lead on assigned projects.
Communicate positioning, strategy and objective (from VPCD or Marketing) to the team to ensure successful alignment and implementation of creative.
Work with design & copy team to streamline creative solutions/options present to VPCD and Marketing.
Communicate VPCD and/or Marketing feedback to the teams to make appropriate adjustments.
Project review/sign off with a critical eye for brand consistency and design/typography details.
Manage the work flow with Project Manager to even workloa
Communicate with Purchasing, Vendor and/or Marketing to problem solve issues until projects release.
Assemble teams/talent for projects as needed — including in-house as well as freelance designers, photographers, illustrators, retouchers, etc.
Manage freelance talent (timing, estimates, deliverables, billing).
Outstanding design portfolio with refined typography and nuanced details.
Minimum 15 years professional design experience with luxury brands and print and packaging.
Minimum 8 years experience managing creative teams.
Exceptional skills in InDesign, Illustrator and Photoshop.
Expert knowledge of printing/production processes in paper and plastics.
Must enjoy managing/mentoring people and working in high volume, fast turnaround atmosphere.
